Kevin Garnett Goes Back to Minnesota

One of my favorite athletes ever is Kevin Garnett. A lot of people either love him, or hate him. I love the way he plays, especially when he was younger. I was giddy when he was originally traded to the Celtics. I think the phrase "changed the culture" is such a cliche in sport, but he did just that with their team. It's bittersweet watching him play now, as he has been in the league for 20 years and is just a shell of himself. Seeing him play for the Nets this season was tough but his passion was still there. When I found out he was traded from the Nets to the Timberwolves I didn't know how to take it. Obviously he is going to retire after this season, but there were other options on the table for him. He could've been bought out and signed to a contender. Rumor has it the Clippers were willing to sign him and he could have reunited with Doc Rivers. The Cavaliers were also interested in signing him. Ultimately though, I respect him because he isn't simply "chasing another ring," he is going back to where his career started and letting his journey come full circle.
