Volunteering for the Wizards
My dream job is working sports PR. Yesterday I got the cool experience of volunteering with the Wizards marketing team for their final home game of the season yesterday. They did a water bottle give away on a first come first serve basis. It was interesting helping out the marketing team and seeing exactly what they do on gamedays. It is a very high-paced job and quite exhausting. My activities ranged from arranging boxes, opening boxes, setting up tables, setting up the inflatables outside of the arena, and passing out water bottles. The scariest part of the night came when I had to go on the catwalk and drop coupons to the crowd. I didn't realize how high the catwalk was until I was up there. I am not the biggest fan of heights- and to be fair the person in charge of me asked me if I was afraid of them. I didn't want to seem like a bitch so I told him I wasn't scared of heights... needless to say my time on the catwalk felt like it lasted an eternity even though it was only 15 minutes. I had a lot of fun but like I said it was an exhausting experience. I for sure want to work in pro-sports after I graduate, but more in the PR department. Communication and public relations are things I am passionate about, but marketing is very cool too.

Ugh, yes, marketing/promotions work is exhausting. I'm glad you survived the catwalk!
